Cisco Press Releases Second Edition
of Best-Selling CCNA Certification Library
May 18, 2006
Cisco Press prepares certification candidates for the CCNA®
exam with a revised edition of the No. 1 selling preparation
product, the CCNA Official Exam Certification Library, Second
Edition. The value-priced bundle now contains 30 minutes of
visual instruction featuring best-selling author and senior
instructor Wendell Odom, and includes the most recent printings
of the CCNA ICND and CCNA INTRO Exam Certification Guides.
The instructional video offers certification candidates an
additional learning tool in studying for the CCNA exam. In
the three video labs Odom walks users through basic CCNA configuration
tasks, including navigating router and switch command-line
interface, static and connected routes, and NAT overload (PAT).
“The ability to see it happening provides better visual references
and gives the CCNA candidate another leg up on getting a solid
grasp of the material," he says.
The two books included in the bundle, CCNA ICND and CCNA INTRO
Exam Certification Guides, are highly regarded for their level
of detail, review questions, and exercises. The books include
complete coverage of exam material and a test engine with
more than 500 practice questions. Simulation-based questions,
as well as challenging, interpretive multiple-choice questions,
make the practice tests more like the real exam.
By combining the instructional video and both Exam Certification
Guides, the CCNA Official Exam Certification Library, Second
Ed., is the most comprehensive, up-to-date, and accurate self-study
preparation package available for the CCNA exam. Cisco certifications
continue to be among the fastest growing and most valued certifications
in the industry.
As the official publisher of Cisco networking technology and
Cisco certification self-study materials, Cisco Press continues
to meet the evolving needs of the networking professional.
Cisco Press Announces New CCNA Companion
Guides
March 23, 2006
Cisco Press, the official publisher for Cisco Systems®, today
introduced a new CCNA® Companion Guide for the Cisco Networking
Academy® Program CCNA 1 course, the first to publish in a
series of new books for each of the four CCNA courses. Cisco
Press materials, the only print companions reviewed and approved
by Cisco Systems for use in the Cisco Networking Academy Program,
are developed to support the instructor-led online curriculum.
Written by expert instructors and authors, including industry
veterans Wendell Odom and Wayne Lewis the new Companion Guides
will provide elements to aid and enhance student comprehension.
Chapters align with course modules in both name and number,
and added features include "How-To" quick references for step-by-step
tasks, real-world examples, all-new illustrations, and correlations
to the CCNA Certification exam in both the chapter objectives
and new end-of-chapter Challenge questions and activities.
"The revised books, based on research into the classroom needs
of Networking Academies, provide a fresh, complementary perspective
on the online curriculum," says Mary Beth Ray, Cisco Press
executive editor. "As a result, students get supporting topic
coverage, improved readability, and extra practice of the
course material to aid the learning process and lock in their
understanding of all the course topics."
To accompany the Companion Guides, Cisco Press will also publish
a Labs and Study Guide for each CCNA course, beginning with
Networking Basics CCNA 1 Labs and Study Guide in July. The
all-new Labs and Study Guide titles combine the best of the
former Lab Companions and Engineering Journal and Workbooks
with new features to improve the students' hands-on skills
and reinforce the topics for each CCNA course.
Cisco Press Enhances CCNA Exam Certification
Guides
February 9, 2005
Cisco Press today announces enhancements within the CCNA
INTRO Exam Certification Guide and CCNA ICND Exam Certification
Guide to present a more challenging practice test that reflects
the refined Cisco® CCNA® exam and helps candidates pass the
exam the first time. While current Cisco Press CCNA Exam Certification
Guides continue to provide complete coverage of exam material,
supplements have been created to enhance candidates’ preparation
experience, providing both breadth and depth of coverage.
CCNA exam candidates must have a deeper knowledge base of
all exam topics, process information more quickly, and respond
to both multiple-choice and simulation-based questions centered
on lengthy, real-world scenarios. New material has been added
to Cisco Press CCNA Exam Certification Guides to clarify and
expand upon topics that currently give CCNA candidates the
most problems when taking exams. An updated test engine offers
100+ more challenging, interpretive multiple-choice questions
to make the practice test more like the real exam. "Cisco
Press has always focused on meeting the needs of our readers,"
says John Kane, Cisco Press editor-in-chief. "With the enhancement
of our CCNA self-study materials, we strive to help candidates
prepare for their exams and pass the first time. Through our
partnership with Cisco Systems as the authorized publisher
for CCNA certification, Cisco Press continues to provide the
best option found on the shelf." |
